Code of Conduct
Fostering Respect, Inclusion, and Collaboration

At “Code, Craft & Community!”, we strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone participating in our community, whether through online interactions, events, or discussions. This Code of Conduct outlines the behavior expected from all participants and the steps we take to ensure a safe space for learning and collaboration.
By engaging with our community, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in warnings or removal from the community, depending on the severity of the infraction.
1. Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to us at:

2. Harassment-Free Environment
Harassment will not be tolerated in our community. Examples of prohibited behavior include:
- Offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, or other personal characteristics.
- Unwelcome comments about someone’s lifestyle, including those related to health, parenting, or employment.
- Deliberate misgendering or use of rejected names.
- Threats of violence, incitement to self-harm, or intimidation.
- Stalking, unwanted following, or unwelcome sexual attention.
- Disrupting discussions or events in a sustained or deliberate manner.
3. Inclusivity and Respect
We prioritize the safety and comfort of marginalized individuals. As part of this commitment:
- Discrimination, including racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, and other forms of oppression, is strictly prohibited.
- Reasonable communication of boundaries, such as requests to stop or leave someone alone, must be respected.
- Discussions should remain constructive and avoid demeaning or dismissive language.
4. Community Standards
To foster a positive and collaborative environment:
- No “Well-Actually”s: Avoid unnecessary corrections that derail conversations.
- No Acting Surprised: Refrain from expressing disbelief at someone’s lack of knowledge.
- No Microaggressions: Avoid subtle, indirect, or unintentional discrimination or bias.
- Avoid the “J-word”: Words like “just” can trivialize complex topics; choose language that respects effort and learning.
5. Promotion and Sharing
We encourage the sharing of helpful resources, but with the following guidelines:
- Self-promotion is allowed in moderation (e.g., sharing a blog post you’re proud of).
- Do not share affiliate or referral links.
- Resources should genuinely add value to the community and not be shared excessively.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be addressed at the discretion of the community administrators. Actions may include:
- Warning: A reminder of the Code of Conduct.
- Temporary Suspension: Temporary removal from discussions or events.
- Permanent Ban: Removal from the community and future events.
Confidentiality will be respected when handling reports, and we may issue public or private warnings if it improves community safety.
7. Paradox of Tolerance
To maintain an inclusive space, we will not tolerate intolerance. Discriminatory or oppressive behavior will result in swift action, even if some may view this as less “inclusive” to those with harmful beliefs.
8. Attribution
This Code of Conduct draws inspiration from similar policies, including those by Josh W. Comeau, Piccalilli, and Kent C. Dodds, among others.
